WorldVentures

WorldVentures biz review… is it a scam?

worldventures

As with any network marketing company the product and/or service is the most critical part of any serious evaluation, WorldVentures is no exception.  If the product does not check out than every other aspect up for evaluation does not matter.

There is one primary question you have to confidently answer when evaluating the product of any network marketing company and that is “is it consumer worthy?”  In other words, does the product provide standalone value?  Put yet another way, are consumers purchasing the product regardless of the opportunity involved? We’ll cover this in-depth by looking under the hood of the WorldVentures Dream Trips and LTC products in-depth.

WorldVentures travel products… are they of value?

WorldVentures Dream Trips

WorldVentures Dream Trips:

The Dreamtrips product sells for $199.95 up front and $24.99 a month.  This product is described as taking the bulk buying concept of Costco and applying it to travel; in short it’s a monthly membership that gives the member access to discounted vacations.  At the time of writing there were 68 vacations listed on the schedule of available vacations.

So is it worth it?  It would be an impossible task to research all of the 68 vacations currently being offered by WorldVentures to determine value but our research showed that they do in fact provide vacation pricing that cannot be matched anywhere else online.  One of the price comparisons I researched as a test was for a Jamaica vacation at the Grand Lido Braco.  For two adults this vacation cost $890 via the Dreamtrips product and Travelocity came in at $1050.  Another example I researched was a Cabo San Lucas trip to the Riu PaIace.  For two adults this vacation cost $758 via Dreamtrips product and Travelocity came in at $950.28.  There were some more extravagant trips that could not be easily compared because they would not show pricing unless you were a member and others were hard to compare because the Dreamtrips included extras that could not be purchased via the normal online booking engine.

Looking at the numbers it seems most consumers would recover their WorldVentures Dreamtrips membership investment with the money they save by taking their first “Dreamtrip”.  Please be aware that this was by no means an exhaustive investigation as we only priced 2 of the 68 Dreamtrips available at time of writing, but based on this analysis, it seems that families taking at least one decent vacation a year would see the value out of their membership.

World Ventures travel

LTC (Leisure Travel Consultant):

The WorldVentures LTC product also sells for $199.95 up front and $24.99 a month.  The best description for this product would be an online travel “business in a box”.  This includes an online retail travel website, online travel tutorials and exam, along with opportunities for higher level travel industry training.

Evaluating the legitimacy of the LTC product is a little tougher as it is not as much of a retail product for end consumers but rather the training, tools and systems to market to end consumers. To this end it looks as if they have the gamut covered pretty well.  I was particularly impressed by the Rovia search engine that powers the retail travel websites of LTC’s.  In doing an airfare search I was surprised to see that they also check Southwest airlines.  Because I actually needed to book the travel I was researching I ended up booking the airfare and had no issues with the fulfillment. There is also a “Match or Beat” price guarantee for online bookings against Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline and Travelocity.  After using the booking engine and seeing how it searches all the other booking engines I can start to see how the marketing claims of not needing to go anywhere else could be very true.  We have recently added a video review comparing WorldVentures Rovia to the competition on an airfare search as well as a cruise vacation search.

Common WorldVentures travel scam claim: WorldVentures LTC product is essentially a travel agent “card mill”

Travel agents have been hit especially hard in the past 10 years as more and more travel continues to be booked online.  In this same time frame several network marketing companies have made a failed attempt to take advantage of this shift.  Most are not around anymore and left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of people because they were not delivering any true value. Instead, they were operating what is commonly referred to in the network marketing based travel industry as a “card mill”.  This is a situation where a networking company sells a travel agent package similar in description to WorldVentures LTC product but in reality it’s just a cheap plastic card designed to give the holder discounts as if they were a licensed travel agent.

I am happy to say that there is no sign that WorldVentures has gone this route with the LTC product.  I cannot find any reference to a travel agent discount card anywhere in their marketing material.  Further verification with WorldVentures travel agents has confirmed that you cannot obtain this card until making an industry standard of travel sales along with training and certifications similar in nature to what traditional travel agents must undergo.

It is widely purported in the WorldVentures marketing how big the travel industry is and how more and more is being booked online.  On both accounts this is verifiably true but in some ways it is misleading to the potential of the industry.

The travel industry is a bit of a mixed bag.  While travel is one of the largest and most rapidly growing (thanks in large part to the baby boomers) industries in the world, it is also one with some of the lowest (and getting lower) profit margins of any industry.  Years ago travel agents earned commissions on air travel, these commission were continually reduced until they were eventually eliminated altogether.

With the movement toward most business being transacted online, travel is becoming more of a commodity where people don’t care who they fly, stay or go with… bottom line is they want the lowest price.  The fierce competition can be seen by the amount of national TV and radio advertising by the big online players like Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia.

This movement online and fierce competition has put most of the traditional travel agents out of business.  On the other hand it’s this same industry shift that sort of plays into WorldVentures travel business model because finding the lowest price (regardless of carrier) is what the Rovia travel search engine is designed to do.  The problem is that the Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedias  of the world that spend millions on advertising make their money through volume, an advantage that an independent agent would not have.  As an LTC with the WorldVentures biz it does look like you would have a superior technology with the Rovia powered website but there are no commissions on airfare (which is the majority of all travel bookings) and  the commissions on hotels, vacations and cruises tops out at about 10%.  This is simply means that you will have to develop a sizable client base before earning any significant income by booking travel.

The travel industry has seen reducing commissions in recent years but it is still growing rapidly and the internet is now the choice for consumers booking travel.  This shift toward the internet has put many a travel agent out of business but it is this exact same trend that WorldVentures hopes to capitalize on with its unique Dream Trips and LTC Package with the Rovia booking engine.  While it’s a fierce industry, it looks like WorldVentures has put a lot of thought into its product offering and has given itself and its agents a fighting chance to make a mark on the travel industry.

WorldVentures LLC & it’s leadership…

As a travel company WorldVentures LLC is certified with the standard industry organizations including IATA, ASTA, & CLIA.  While it shouldn’t be the case, it says a lot that they have earned and held onto these certifications for the entirety of their 4 year existence.  There has been a documented history of network marketing scams opening shop by looking legit only to get their certifications pulled for operating as a card mills by selling travel agent credentials as a product.  It seems very unlikely that WorldVentures could fit into this category of travel scams as they have not only held onto their credentials but also added very credible travel industry icons to their corporate staff like America West Co-Founder Michael Conway.

WorldVentures LLC is not currently listed as a DSA member and I was not able to verify whether or not they are within the 1 year review period to become a member.  I will continue to review this and report back

As for the leadership of WorldVentures there is a lot a lot I could go into but I’ll try to keep it as simple as possible for you.  The most important factor for me in reviewing is whether or not the leadership is hiding away trying not to be discovered and you will find that is not the case.  In fact they proudly promote their entire corporate team which includes some recognizable names like the afore mentioned Co-Founder of America West Michael Conway along with ex US Senator Mike Rose as their legal counsel.

The vision for the WorldVentures came from Wayne Nugent who along with Mike Azcue have a very storied network marketing histories together.  You may find some very negative information regarding these two on the forums and blogs.  Research shows that all of the negativity derived from their involvement as independent distributors in a failed network marketing travel company just prior to their founding of WorldVentures travel.  In my opinion, it would be quite unfair to associate their credibility with a WorldVentures for which they had no control.  I know that I’ve signed up with at least one WorldVentures and worked for several others that knowing what I know now I would never have done in the first place.

As is always the case on the internet anyone can say anything at any time about anybody.  In most cases the negative information isn’t nearly as bad as it’s made out to be yet there is probably a seed of truth somewhere deep down.  Finding that seed at this point would be tough for Mike and Wayne as their track record over the past 4 years of leading WorldVentures biz has not raised any red flags.

How does WorldVentures biz stack up to their MLM competition?

We have referenced that historically much of the competition in the realm of network marketing based travel has been quite scandalous.  More accurately, there have been several outright network marketing travel scams in the past.  Fortunately most of these have been weeded by the marketplace.  There are a few remaining companies that have been left.

YTB (Your Travel Biz)

YTB is by far the biggest competitor as far as size is concerned.  In fact at their most recent convention they rented out the Edwards Jones Dome and filled it with some 18,000 people.  This kind of event is the stuff old school network marketing war dogs spoke of back in the hey days of Amway.  Unfortunately YTB looks to be headed south a bit as they have lost their IATA certification and they are running into all sorts of legal issues with states.  I have not seen any real consumer value that would make me want to use the YTB booking website over any other and I don’t see any other product other than the travel agent package offering the booking website.  I don’t know what the future holds for YTB and I’m not financially invested in either YTB or WorldVentures but if I were a stock broker I would recommend selling.

Traverus

Traverus is a relative newcomer to the network marketing travel scene and honestly a confusing one simply because the only information that can be found on the Traverus is distributor generated.  There does not seem to be much attention by Traverus to establish a corporate image.  All their travel industry certifications are in order and I cannot find anything that would cause me to raise a red flag.  The only hint of a red flag would be that I can’t find anything about the Traverus leadership outside of their CEO David Manning.  An interesting development is that Traverus has expanded their product line to include nutritionals which is a first for the industry.  All in all Traverus seems to be legit but sure could use some polish as its sales materials are a bit gimmicky and it needs to establish a better corporate image.

WorldVentures compensation plan…

WorldVentures LLC utilizes a binary compensation plan which is quickly becoming the favorite comp plan for newer companies, although this is not always a good thing.   They have some very unique aspects to their binary compensation plan that differentiate it from the norm.  Every sale generates a $50 direct commission and team building bonuses of $100 are earned every 6 sales with 3 on each side which is pretty standard, but what I like is that when agents make 3 or more sales in a week every cycle for that week is doubled to $200.  In addition, every 6th cycle the WorldVentures awards “TravelDollars” instead of the normal cash payout.   Residual income of $20 for every 6 sales can be earned as soon as individuals achieve the “Director” rank which means 90 agents on each binary team.  One additional aspect to the compensation plan that I really like is that they waive the monthly product fees once an agent achieves 4 retail sales and they will continue to waive the monthly fees as long as the agent has 4 actively paying personal sales.

There were some growing pains for WorldVentures biz over their first few years in business as they have had to adjust their compensation plan several times to keep the payout within a corporately acceptable 65% ratio.  Any time a company reduces payout there is typically a mass exodus and indeed there were a lot of folks that left when this happened.  In the end it speaks volumes to the leadership that they made it through this transition.  Now after 4 years in business and continued solid growth it looks like they have moved past the start up phase and have worked most of the kinks out.

The network marketing based travel industry has traditionally been full of less than credible companies and individuals looking to make a quick buck by touting big numbers and checks.  After reviewing and analyzing WorldVentures biz we have concluded that they are one of the exceptions to the rule.  They have a real product with consumer value which is marketed by their agents under a compensation plan that is both fair and legal.  There is a strong corporate team in place, all of whom have a verifiable history.

As with any company, not all the press with the ownership and company is positive but a commonsense review of the facts has not revealed any red flags to be worried about.  Of course do your own due diligence and in doing so understand that the bad press is never as bad as its made out to be and the same holds true for the fluffy good news.

Yours in Success,

Shawn Cornett

Marketing Chick,

Great job, analyzing WV.  Who wants to pay for a JOB?

I could open Subway, #1 franchise in USA, it would cost, approx. 23,000.00 for the franchise fee, + FE + rent + interest on my loan, + the privilege of paying approx 5% of my sales every month to Subway.

What am I paying for – a JOB, a business.   Guess it depends on your perspective.

Bottom line, paying $99.00 for a business system and $10.00 a month doesn’t seem like such a bad deal.   If you can find a better business opportunity out there for less than $99.00 and $10.00 a month please post it.

Otherwise, I would suggest calling your local BBB and reporting Subway, Taco Bell, McDonald’s,
Or any other franchise business as a scam.

Also, you could classify your education as a scam; you paid for the college to train you to be able to go apply for a job.   In my view you paid to get a job.

TOTAL SCAM!  A representative talked me into signing up for a FLAT FEE of $199.00!!  He signed me up online using my debit card.  He never mentioned any other fee or obligations I would have.  I said, “let’s do it!”  HE signed me up – and took my info.  Come to find out…months later (WorldVentures was taking $24.99 out of my bank account EVERY SINGLE MONTH)!!!!  I called them immediately and asked them to cancel me!  They couldn’t seem to find any information regarding my authorization to use my debit card – but they seemed to have all of my debit information on file!  FRAUD!  I contacted my bank, and they are doing a thorough investigation.  I have also contacted the BBB.  You cannot use someone’s credit card or debit card without authorization!  WorldVentures does that without telling you!!  It’s a total SCAM!

I have attempted to contact WorldVentures and (what do you know) they don’t want to deal with me.  They refuse to give me my money back!!  Shock! If you are a rep with this company, why not tell your costumers they have an extra fee??  Plus, when signing up, why do they hide that fee from you?

I was with WV before the search engine changed to Rovia. They never gave me a notification, and I continued to pass out my business cards with the old search engine website (which did not work anymore). WV has bad communication with their representatives. I am no longer with WV.

Yo, Marketing Chick….  Your School didn’t do you any favors in your education. Harvard school of business teaches that this is the very best way to find financial success without having to totally work for yourself, do it all yourself and use leverage as a key to making a substancial amount of money.

It looks to me in this business you can actually be a business owner as discribed  by Robert Kiyosaki as opposed to a Self employed person. Lastly, the only job you can get in the future of working for someone else will be working for the government. I won’t be here to see it but it sounds like you will. Good Luck.

Shawn Cornett April 5, 2010 at 11:41 pm

Sounds to me like the rep you signed up with was a little slick and shady but I don’t see that WV was at fault here.  You should be hounding the rep that signed you up and he should be refunding you the $25 that he hid from you.

Private April 21, 2010 at 10:49 pm

@Marketing Chick:  I’m afraid you are misunderstanding the difference between serving a company as an employee vs. being in business for yourself.  Reps of WorldVentures (WV) do not work for WV…they are not WV employees.  They are independent representatives who pay a nominal one time fee of $99.00 to cover administrative costs and the welcome kit containing their marketing materials to get them started.  They are then charged $9.99 a month to maintain their business.  I cannot think of any business in the world that only costs $99 to start and $10 a month to maintain.  Besides, once you partner up with four other people who join your team, your monthly charge of $10 is waived for good so long as you have at least four active Reps on your team.

Private April 21, 2010 at 11:12 pm

@Rox:  It is irresponsible to condemn an entire company for the misconduct of a single individual.  We would all love to live in a world where every single person in any business was 100% honest, upfront, and on-the-level.  However, as in any business, you will occassionally encounter a bad apple.  On behalf of all the honest, hard working Reps, the majority of which are primarily interested in helping other people achieve their goals, dreams, or aspirations and enjoy the same success they have, I apologize for your experience and assure you this is a rare occurrance.  Would you label all of Microsoft a scam if someone sold you a bootlegged copy of their software?  Would you label all of Sony a scam if some retailer sold you a TV and didn’t tell you about the annual service contract that you would be automatically charged for each year?  If everything you reported is accurate, I would encourage you to report this individual as he/she is misrepresenting the company and does not deserve to retain his/her business center.  My philosophy is that business is all about making people’s lives better.  If you are simply in business to make money, you will never achieve your ultimate goal and will enjoy very little success.

Private April 21, 2010 at 11:39 pm

Lisa…everyone has to start somewhere.  When you walked into your first job, I am certain you didn’t enter the facility as one of the top wage or salary earners in the company.  You had to start at or near the bottom and over time work your way up to where you are now.  It is the same in any business start-up.  People join for a variety of reasons, depending on what their individual motivations and aspirations are.  Some only want to have a little extra each month, while others want to supplement their primary income with something residual.  Others commit themselves to building a solid business that with effort and perseverence will grow and flourish over time.  As with anything, your results are dependent upon your own personal level of effort.  This is not a get-rich-quick scheme, but a legitimate business in existence for over 4 years and registered in all 50 states and 8 countries worldwide.

Private April 21, 2010 at 11:44 pm

If you read the info on the link you provided, there is no mention whatsoever about bounced checks or CC overlimit issues.  To assist their Reps, WorldVentures simply provides a backup payment option for those who are using a Credit or Debit card as their primary method of payment.  We all forget from time to time to update every single automatic payment or withdrawl when our credit or debit cards expire.  They are simply offering people a backup payment method to keep their membership current should they forget to update their credit or debit card info prior to or following expiration.

great review appreciate the honest comments

Jeff Milstein May 14, 2010 at 12:20 pm

I couldn’t agree more. I have been working with worldventures since August of 09 and it seems as if every new marketing aspect they develop is pure genius. Like any other business opportunity, the amount of effort you put into it will reflect what you receive from it. The unfortunate aspect of network marketing is that people who are looking for something for nothing often times wind up spending more time looking for the holes in the system rather than concentrating on developing their own team to become successful. Fortunately, WV and Rovia are legitimate products and the travel product is of value to customers who choose not to participate in the business opportunity. This should always be the first and only criteria in deciding to sell any network marketing product. In this respect, WV wins big! I just returned from Cabo with my wife to celebrate our 31st anniversary and had a fantastic time for way less money than I could have spent for the same trip on any other search engine. In addition, there were extra perks on the trip that none of the other packages offered that Rovia cannot advertise as a monetary value. I love the product and plan on traveling quite a bit more through Rovia in the future.

Jeff Milstein May 14, 2010 at 12:37 pm

Congratulations! on your new degree. I just hope it taught you how to properly find the information you need to be successful in your job hunt. It sounds like it wasn’t comprehensive enough to include subsequent job placement. Thats a shame considering what an undergrad degree costs. I’ve paid for two of them for my kids so I have some experience.

I’m curous, have you ever been a salesperson? I have been one for 36 years, both as a manufacturers rep as well as owning my own companies. Residual income only comes from building and developing a team. I don’t care if it’s a network marketing program or an idividual business. If you don’t learn to build a team it won’t matter what arena you play in. You will always be trading time for money. Unfortunately, you only have so many hours in the day and so many days in your life. My current situation is a classic example of why my business needs to run itself. I just had cranial and abdominal cancer surgery and am on disability and can’t work. My disability checks don’t even cover my mortgages. My wife has been my partner for 32 years and has only been able to work part time in the business during my illness because of the necessity for her to be available to assist me (I am not allowed to drive). If it weren’t for my fantastic staff, I would be in huge trouble. While working in my business over the years has been a job a lot the time. The seeds I planted are making my life a lot easier at present when I need it the most.

Maybe it’s time for you to shed the garbage they taught you in school about the importance of jobs and start learning your real education regarding making money. That’s if you believe making money is a necessary process to live whatever lifestyle your desire. Waiting for someone else to hand you money and security is the path to homelessness. I hope this renders a perspective that will be helpful to you in the future.

Truth May 14, 2010 at 1:12 pm

LOl, too funny and true!!  Education is expensive to hear you don’t have any experience after you graduate and wonder are they literally that intelligent or hardly.  How does a company expect a college grad to gain experience if they are not given the chance. Idiots!

Thank you for the objective look at Eorld Ventures. It was indeed very helpful.

Aidan Gibson June 16, 2010 at 7:52 pm

Thanks for this great review! Very good!  :)

I have been with World Ventures for a few months now and I can safely say that they are the real deal. I have never seen this amount of quality products, team support and training from any other mlm company.

This company is launching legitimately and safely around countries in Europe and other parts of the world which is enough proof for me to stick around for the ride!

Awesome objective review! I have to say that this site has the best reviews I have seen on the internet thus far. I have been with WorldVentures for a bit now and many times when you read a review written by someone on the outside it is full of information that is way off track.

WorldVentures is a GREAT company, with awesome products, doing all the right things! It seems that your blog content follows the same line ;)

Keep up the great work!!

A few things of factual relevance about WorldVentures:
WorldVentures (WV) is an exceptionally innovative company with 110% integrity and one that is heavily involved with philanthropy and helping others. I have been involved with the business for about a year now- working it very part time as I have a busy interior design, gift & window covering business with 2 stores in Colorado. I have gone to several national trainings & conventions and was absolutely blown away by the quality of their leadership, the dynamics involved and the caliber of people that I have met through WV. Life changing stuff! You can’t put a price on that.

In reference to Lisa’s negative posts (completely unfounded I may add) I have exceeded that 30-70 rule working a few hours a week (WHEN I want to!) & have made several thousand dollars along with SAVING hundreds on various trips that I have taken. After all, this company’s brilliant business model is based on saving people money. Their signature product, DREAMTRIPS, is modeled after Costco- 4 and 5 star trips at 2 star prices. One time fee (no contracts!) of $199 and only $24.99 a month. Sir Richard Branson with Virgin LTD just came on board offering his 10 and 20 star private resorts like Nekker Island, his vessels, private game reserve in S, Africa, etc. Mike Conway, the founder of America West Airlines (taking them from zero to a billion dollar company in just over 5 years), came out of retirement to become WV’s CEO a few years ago. The co-founders, Mike Azcue & Wayne Nugent, were just nominated for the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award by Ernst and Young. Something BIG is happening with this company, wouldn’t you agree?

ABOUT THE MONTHLY FEES:
Unlike other  companies that have an “auto-ship,” we have no inventory! Fees can be waived by simply referring the product to 4 others. “Get 4- pay no more.” Even if you don’t get your fees waived, the beneifts and savings far outweight the low monthly cost. If you become a REP, it’s a mere $99 start up fee and only $9.99 a month to have a state of the art, video driven web site with the potential to earn literally thousands (and even millions) of dollars over a short time period. Their other product, LTC- ROVIA is a web site much like Expedia or Orbitz that offers savings over other sites 68% of the time. Sears is now using that site for their travel! We that own the site & get to earn commissions from others using it. One time fee of only $199  (no contracts) -only $24.99 a month. They are running a 2 for 1 special right now, so you can get both products and become a rep for only $360 which includes your first month’s dues. The residual income component for those that decide to become a rep is nothing short of exceptional and one can get to that level in a very short time IF you plug in. It’s all about “netWORKING”…just like with anything else, you have to put in time and effort to be successful.

No where else can you get that kind of return on your investment on a mere $360. (I know- I own 2 successful businesses that cost me more PER DAY to operate than WV cost to get involved!) I know alot of financial people who will back me up and many have become involved with WV due to the income potential and their great products. WorldVentures is THE company-going to be the $1billion online travel company very soon…. they got to $150 million in revenue in just 3 short years and did $100 million last year in a recession. It took Microsoft 10 years to make the $100 million mark. THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE!  There are hundreds and hundreds of heart-wrenching success stories out there and those that don’t want to be a part of this amazing ride, need not be. For Lisa and others that don’t want the real facts and want to be negative without any basis, please continue on whatever path you are on. We want only fun and positive, forward thinking people involved in our great company. The rest of us are going to keep “making a living…living” and will enjoy the relationships and money we can save and earn. WHO WANTS TO PLAY? Please contact me at vailskr@aol.com and log onto my WV business site at http://www.travelandfun.worldventures.biz

That is really too bad. One small glitch and you lost faith in the bigger picture.
Sort of like throwing the baby out with the bath water. But…alas, we all make our choices. WV may not be perfect, but they have a helluva business model that many are loving.

jan July 25, 2010 at 4:48 pm

Rox. Read my post above. Also, get onto WorldVentures facebook fan page where there are over 11,000+ fans and growing. 99% of the posts are people raving about the products, the company, the people involved and the leadership. Real people sharing their success stories- I’ve met hundreds and I am one of them. Also, Success from Home magazine featured WV in a 100 page magazine on national book store shelves this past month. Amazing facts and stories about where this company is heading….huge accolades that you can’t dispel.

It’s really too bad that you had a bad experience with the rep that signed you on- wherein you didn’t have the facts. That’s why training is so critical. But, don’t fault the company for his/her poor leadership in not training you about what its all about. WV offers an opportunity to save and make $ while helping other people for a very small investment. It’s a shame that you were in the vast minority that had a bad experience, but ___ happens.

Jay August 16, 2010 at 9:38 pm

OK seriously people…just go to their website at  https://www.worldventures.info/pdfs/incomedisclosure.pdf  and see that the average annual commissions paid to a sales rep?  Less than $200.  Recruit a bunch of people, and become a Qualified Representative, and make $684 / year.  Recruit even more, and have those recruits recruit a ton as well, making you a Senior representative, and damn, you’re making $4802 / year.  Bear in mind, these are gross profits, and does NOT take into consideration taxes, and any expenses you have spent during the year.

grzybotj August 19, 2010 at 2:42 pm

I am new at this I just signed up and I have a great enthusiastic team above me. I understand that it is not a get rich quick scheme. I have analyzed the business and compensation structure and I believe that if you dont give up and push on, this business does have the potential to be a lucrative investment.  That is what it is . . . an investment. What investment do you know of that matures in 1 2 or even 6 months. The key is to get on a active team and work with them. they have to drop people under you so they will grow your business for you, you have to help and drop people under the people that you sign up. that is how you become successful. I am exited about it and I am going for it!!!

I spoke with a representative today, and the fee was not “hidden” from me. I saw a video which explained the program thoroughly. I agree with Shawn that your rep sounds shady.

michelle August 20, 2010 at 9:23 pm

Subway may not tell you to do that, but if you tell people about Subway, they just got free advertising. Good luck finding better rates on vacation packages. I just surfed the net after seeing the video for WV, and I was surprised at how much cheaper WV really is overall.

Off course worldventures scam talk is just ridiculous. My own honest opinion, I don’t think they have the best product or services in the world. However, that is just my opinion. Can you make money with them, hell yea. learning the science of marketing is a must. I call it science because no one is  born with it. It can be learned. Learn it, then you will make money with world ventures.

@ Jay,

90% of all businesses fail in 10 years, over 50% of those who pay thousands of dollars a year to get a degree do not graduate from college. Are these scams too?  Sure looks like it!  Lets all stop starting up businesses and going to college.
Bottomline, you are compensated for your efforts, not just your time like at a job. Your quote:”Recruit a bunch of people, and become a Qualified Representative, and make $684 / year.” The exact number is 4, F-O-U-R. not “a bunch”. And now I have no monthly fees to pay. In addition to the tax benefits from a home based travel business.
So quick to judge when you don’t have all of the facts…..

Chuck September 9, 2010 at 3:08 pm

“The Dreamtrips product sells for $199.95 up front and $24.99 a month.”

That = $300/year ($500 the first year.)

“a Jamaica vacation at the Grand Lido Braco.  For two adults this vacation cost $890 via the Dreamtrips product and Travelocity came in at $1050.  Another example I researched was a Cabo San Lucas trip to the Riu PaIace.  For two adults this vacation cost $758 via Dreamtrips product and Travelocity came in at $950.28.”

Dreamtrips saves me $100 – $150.

How is booking my travel though Dreamtrips a good deal unless I go on about four trips a year?

private September 10, 2010 at 5:56 am

Hi Chuck,  You haven’t looked at enough trips. I priced some hunting ones out that saved over $3000 from the best I could find!  We just took a 4 day trip that saved over $750 total from the best online price. We are going on another one in 2 weeks that is $400 less than the best I found anywhere online. I stayed at the Flamingo in Vegas last month for less than the “guaranteed lowest price” on their own website.  The deals are there and worth it.

Life is short, it’s not about how many years you have left, it’s about how many TIMES you actually take a trip during those years. We travel a whole lot more thanks to WV.

And you are missing the bigger picture. When you book a trip as Chuck the traveler, you are pretty much on your own. You do all the work too. Book a trip with a DT group of hundreds, you have a lot more pull at the vendor if something isn’t right. And all the arrangements are done for you. Plus the trips are hosted by a concierge from the company onsite. Chuck the traveler doesn’t get that on travelocity.

Finally, go on a trip or 2 and tell your friends about it. Most want to know how to go on a $49 cruise. So then you refer 4 people to do the same and your monthly fees are waived. Imaging getting your annual fee waived to refer your friends to Costco, or to Sams Club?  It is a great business model! So much so that the founders were finalists for Ernst and Youngs Entrepreneur of the Year.

Get onboard, it’s fun, it works.

Does anyone know if you can make money just being a TLC rep or is the money  with the full package _ dreamtrips, a WV rep and TLC?

JTravel September 28, 2010 at 12:35 pm

yes, you can make money as just an TLC.  I would review the online videos to answer your question.  Seems like you may not understand the business that well.

JTravel September 28, 2010 at 12:36 pm

If you can press play on a DVD you can make money in WV.  It is the simplist thing you can do to secure your future and your families future.

JTravel September 28, 2010 at 12:41 pm

You have no idea what you are talking about.  You are so right. All of the doctors, lawyers, senators, and well educated people are conducting a huge scam.  Amazingly the scam has now fooled people all over the world in over a dozen countries.  Jay I am sorry that you do not understand what you are talking about.

JTravel September 28, 2010 at 12:46 pm

Rox, first I would advise you to not give your credit card information out without knowing what you are getting into.  World Ventures has an A- rating with the BBB and do an amazing job with customer service, so good luck with that.  You honestly do not understand or a clue of to what World Venture is or what it is about.  World Ventures never hides fees from people.  I would say be more educated with your own spending habits.  World Ventures is an absolutely amazing company and it sucks you had a “bad” experience with them.  However, this might have been more of your own fault than anyone elses.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for writing such an awesome review! It’s clear that it took some time, so thanks for actually doing some research and not just posting that you think it’s a good company with no supporting facts. A+!

@Shola I agree all the World Ventures scam talk needs to stop. I’m not affiliated with the company, but I will say that people need to quit going to the internet to complain about a company they’ve had minor issues with if you haven’t tried to fix the issue by contacting the company directly. Do what you would do if Starbucks overcharged you (or if you feel you were mislead, etc.) and call them to address the problem! That’s how stuff gets fixed.

Have a great day, Shawn!

Brian

My friend just showed me this company today. I travel A TON for business and pleasure so I’ve spent the evening comparing travel rates if I just became his “customer” and booked through his site via Rovia. Here’s what I found…this may interest you current reps as well as someone looking at the company.

First, I just got back from a week in Maui, HI. For the airfare, hotel and car we paid $3500, I just found the exact same vacation on Rovia for $2800. So far, I’m impressed. I’ll be curious for him to look up the rates as a rep for WV.

Second, I looked up airfare rates for a business trip I’m taking to Vegas in January 2011 – the same flights I compared. It’s almost the same to the penny of what I already paid. Again, I’ll be curious for him to look up his rep rates.

Third, I checked into rates for the Excalibur through Rovia vs. Expedia for this same January trip. Through Rovia they said the rate was about $100 a night, for the same room on Expedia $64 per night. Have to say, I was dissappointed but still curious what the rep rates will be.

So, as a business owner looking into this opportunity it still has my attention. As I research more, I’ll post more.
